Sifu Brad has trained with many great practitioners, including Grandmaster Cheng Chuen Fun, Sifu Emin Boztepe, Sifu Chris Collins, and Sifu Salvador Sanchez. Jason (1st Technician Grade) is the head instructor at Texas Wing Tsun. He comes from a wrestling and boxing background. Being involved in competitive sport combat, he has a very practical approach to the real world application of martial arts. After becoming exposed to Wing Tsun and Jeet Kune Do in his early teenage years while going through his "Bruce Lee phase", he bounced around from various Wing Tsun, Jeet Kune Do, and MMA schools, not quite finding what he was looking for. Once he met Sifu Alex and attended his first class, he knew he had struck gold, and totally immersed himself in Wing Tsun full time.
Unfortunately, after a few years the organizational politics associated with opening a new school caused him to leave the Bay Mountain organization, and subsequently parting ways with Sifu Alex. Longtime family friend Sifu Bradford stepped in and took him under his wing and supported the rise and development of Texas Wing Tsun, providing high level WT instruction. Free from the bondage of organizational regulations, Jason cross trains and exchanges knowledge with other lineages of Wing Tsun/Wing Chun/Ving Tsun, including Leung Sheung/Kenneth Cheung, Duncan Leung, Moy Yat, Hawkins Cheung, Gary Lam, Yip Ching, Wang Kiu, CSL Force Flow, William Cheung TWC, and Shaolin to get a more well rounded picture of what this art should be from many different perspectives and interpretations. He also studies Kali Escrima, and constantly cross trains with other styles of martial arts, including boxing, Japanese and Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi, Baji Quan, Northern Praying Mantis, Shaolin, and MMA to be able to effectively apply his Wing Tsun in any given situation against any kind of attack.
Aside from being certified to teach Wing Tsun under the WTA, Jason is also certified to teach Jeet Kune Do under Sifu Paul Johnson of Real JKD, who is a certified Sifu under Sifu Jerry Poteet, a direct student of Sijo Bruce Lee. Jason is also a bladesmith, specializing in custom knives and edged weapons for combat and self defense.
